Objective approach
No per-difficulty item manifest is recorded for this guide. Follow the on-screen tracker, then use the notes below to decide what to stage before committing to the final hand-in.
- Read the objective tracker after every major interaction; many ICARUS prospects reveal the next step only after the current one completes.
- Stage resources at the hand-in or build site before triggering final timers, wildlife waves, or extraction travel.
- If the guide has a manifest above, build the Hard list first when possible; it covers lower-difficulty planning and avoids under-packing.
- Keep the return route open. A finished objective still fails the run if the crew cannot safely reach the dropship or delivery pod.
Preparation
- Start with a bedroll, campfire or shelter kit, oxygen and water storage, bandages, splints, and enough food to cover the full route.
- Assign one player to navigation and one to resource accounting so the crew does not duplicate long hauls or miss a delivery line.
- Use the loadout list below as the minimum kit, then add mission-specific tools before launch.
Hazards and controls
- Severe weather / storms.: plan a countermeasure before leaving the initial safe zone; do not wait until the tracker sends you across-map.
Execution checklist
- Before drop: confirm prerequisite unlocks, mission timer, loadout, and who carries shared deployables.
- On landing: locate water, set a respawn point, and confirm the first objective marker before building a permanent base.
- Mid-run: consolidate loot and mission items at one marked cache; keep one repair kit and medical stack on each player.
- Before extract: verify every optional delivery, reward unlock, and follow-up objective is complete before leaving orbit-side cargo behind.

Hints & tips
While is the first mission Prospectors may participate in, it is marked as completed by default. It does not count towards the overall mission progress for the achievement Zero To Hero.
It is recommended that new prospectors begin with this mission before proceeding to Open World. Since there is no difference between Easy and Normal difficulty, it is recommended to play on Normal difficulty or above to avoid the experience and reward penalty.
The Wood Torch does not count towards the objective "to provide yourself light during the night", prospectors will need to craft the Wood Rag Torch.
The Bedroll will need to be in shelter in order for the objective to count. The bedroll can be picked up and placed back down after the objective has been completed, and the prospector will not lose progress.
Prospectors by default will have the following blueprints unlocked: Stone Axe, Stone Pickaxe, Wood Pile, Stone Pile
- Using Wood Piles and Stone Piles is an optimal way to store Wood and Stone until the prospector unlocks alternate storage methods.
Unlocking the Stone Knife is required to skin animals in order to gather the Fur and Leather needed to craft the Bedroll. - Unlocking a ranged weapon like the Wood Bow and Stone Arrows can help prospectors hunt animals easier.
- Some weapons have throwing variants that unlock with a single blueprint point. Unlocking the Stone Knife also unlocks the Stone Throwing Knife, just like how the Wood Spear will also unlock Wood Javelins. These can be used as alternatives to Bows and Arrows for ranged hunting.
- Sneaking by crouching () provides a 2.5x times damage modifier if the target is unaware of your presence, indicated by the "eye" icon in the lower-center of your screen.
Weather Events on is not as severe as on other prospects. When playing on normal difficulty, the highest-tier storm a prospector will encounter is a Tier 1 storm. At full exposure, this can harm the prospector, but it can be easily countered by consuming Cooked Meat to replenish the lost health. - It is possible for prospectors to "Jump" back into their drop pods and wait out the storms, but the positioning to be "In Shelter" (to reduce exposure) can be tricky.
Recommended loadout
- Weapon each + shared ammo pool
- Bedroll, campfire kit, 3× bandage each
- Food for the full day count, water containers
- Repair tools + spare pick/axe
