Objective approach

No per-difficulty item manifest is recorded for this guide. Follow the on-screen tracker, then use the notes below to decide what to stage before committing to the final hand-in.

  • Read the objective tracker after every major interaction; many ICARUS prospects reveal the next step only after the current one completes.
  • Stage resources at the hand-in or build site before triggering final timers, wildlife waves, or extraction travel.
  • If the guide has a manifest above, build the Hard list first when possible; it covers lower-difficulty planning and avoids under-packing.
  • Keep the return route open. A finished objective still fails the run if the crew cannot safely reach the dropship or delivery pod.

Preparation

  • Start with a bedroll, campfire or shelter kit, oxygen and water storage, bandages, splints, and enough food to cover the full route.
  • Assign one player to navigation and one to resource accounting so the crew does not duplicate long hauls or miss a delivery line.
  • Use the loadout list below as the minimum kit, then add mission-specific tools before launch.

Hazards and controls

  • No special hazard is recorded, so default to storm shelter, wound treatment, spare tools, and enough ammunition for unexpected predators.
  • Long travel remains the risk: mark caves, water, and emergency shelter locations as you move.

Execution checklist

  • Before drop: confirm prerequisite unlocks, mission timer, loadout, and who carries shared deployables.
  • On landing: locate water, set a respawn point, and confirm the first objective marker before building a permanent base.
  • Mid-run: consolidate loot and mission items at one marked cache; keep one repair kit and medical stack on each player.
  • Before extract: verify every optional delivery, reward unlock, and follow-up objective is complete before leaving orbit-side cargo behind.

INVESTIGATE THE MOUND OF UNEARTHED EXOTICS

Briefing

INVESTIGATE THE MOUND OF UNEARTHED EXOTICS
//OPERATOR: NOREX // REGION: OLYMPUS // BACKGROUND: Norex has been in Contact through back channels to request freelance prospector help. // MISSION: Details will be provided on a secure line when on site. //TERMS: Flat fee. All resources and construction materials responsibility of the Contractor.

Walkthrough

Investigate a mound of unearthed exotics that has attracted Rock Golem attention. The creatures are drawn to exotic deposits and must be dealt with to secure the resources.

Objectives

QUARRITE CAMPAIGN

  • Search the Central Arctic for the Exotic Cluster
    • Use a Radar to Uncover the Clusters Location
    • Head to the Revealed Location in the Central Arctic (M)
  • Secure the Cave Entrance
    • Close the Quarrite Burrows (0 / 2)
    • Defeat the Exotic Infused Quarrite
  • Find the Exotic Cluster
    • Head Deep Into the Cave and Find the Exotic Cluster
  • Choose what to do with the Exotic Shards
    • (0 / 10) Remaining
    • Deliver to Norex and their Sinotai Retrieval Pod (M)
    • Claim for yourself and Convert the Exotic Shards into Exotics

Hints & tips

If desired, cleaning the Exotic Shards with a Biofuel Bio-Cleaner (T3) or Organic Residue Cleanser (T4) will yield 40 Exotics and 10 Condensed Enzymes per shard, for a yield of 400 Exotics and 100 Condensed Enzymes if all 10 Exotic Shards are converted.
The Exotic Shards are 'bulky' items, so you may find multiple mounts useful if you desire to transport all of the shards in a single trip.

Recommended loadout

  • Weapon each + shared ammo pool
  • Bedroll, campfire kit, 3× bandage each
  • Food for the full day count, water containers
  • Repair tools + spare pick/axe
